Stephen Hill Passes Away

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen Hill from this earth to his heavenly home. Stephen had a massive heart attack Sunday, August 5th, while preparing for a concert at a church in North Carolina. He leaves behind his wife, Kathy, and their three children, Melody, Miriam and Caleb.

Stephen was perhaps best known for his appearances on the Gaither Homecoming videos and concerts. He was also a very active studio vocalist and guitarist, songwriter, solo artist, and also taught at the Stamps-Baxter School of Music. It was through the school that I became acquainted with Stephen and we became fast friends.

Stephen served on the GospelFest Ministries Advisory Board since the beginning, and was a wonderful mentor and friend. We also were able to co-write a couple songs over the past couple years. "Harvest of Thanks" made its debut at our dinner concert last year, and this year, we'll be premiering "We're Coming Home for Christmas."

Stephen will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Your prayers for his family and friends during this time are greatly appreciated!

Celebration service will be at 3:00pm at Grace Church of the Nazarene in Nashville, TN (near Opryland). Family will receive visitors from 1:00-3:00pm at the church.
