Portraits of Christmas

Oct 18, 2017

“Portraits of Christmas” is the theme for the 13th Annual Christmastime GospelFest concert which will be held on Saturday, November 25th at Five Points located at 360 N. Wilmor Road in Washington.  Because of the generous donation of ministry underwriters, the concert will be FREE for all to attend. The concert begins at 7 p.m. and the doors open at 6.

Shawn Degenhart and the GospelFest Singers will perform both traditional Christmas favorites as well as southern gospel Christmas songs such as “O Holy Night,” “Christmas Time is Here,” “Hope Was Born This Night” and the Degenhart-penned favorite, “An Old-Fashioned Christmas.” “When we think about Christmas, our mind brings us mental ‘snapshots’ of the season: a beautiful Christmas tree, a Bing Crosby record, the smell of fudge from the kitchen, and the warmth of a family gathering. Through the music at this event, we’ll re-create some of those ‘Portraits of Christmas’ on stage,” says Degenhart. In addition to the beautiful music, the stage will become an elegant winter wonderland and the whole evening will be a feast for eyes and ears.

The Christmastime GospelFest concert and other GospelFest concerts throughout the year are sponsored by the non-profit GospelFest Ministries. A free-will offering will be taken during the evening, which will go back in to the ministry for future events and projects.
